He gained prominence as a child star, best known for his role as Jeff Miller in the television series “Lassie” from 1954 to 1957. Rettig’s career began at the age of five, appearing in commercials and eventually transitioning to film and television. He starred in notable films such as “River of No Return” (1954) with Marilyn Monroe and “The 5000 Fingers of Dr. T” (1953) alongside Dr. Seuss. After his stint on “Lassie,” Rettig continued to act in various television shows, expanding his range of roles and also delving into music.
