Gregory Hines

Gregory Hines (1946-2003) was an American actor, dancer, and choreographer. Born in New York, Hines began dancing at a young age, eventually becoming a renowned tap dancer in the 1970s and 1980s. His exceptional talent in this art form earned him numerous awards, including a Tony Award and Drama Desk Award for his performance in the Broadway musical “Jelly’s Last Jam” in 1992. Hines also explored his acting skills and appeared in several films throughout his career, including “White Nights” (1985), “Running Scared” (1986), and “Waiting To Exhale” (1995). In addition, he had recurring roles in television shows such as “Will & Grace” and “The Gregory Hines Show.” Gregory Hines’ contributions to dance and entertainment have been recognized with various honors, including induction into the International Dance Hall of Fame and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He passed away in 2003, leaving behind a legacy as a talented and influential performer in the entertainment industry.
