Florida Scott-Maxwell

Florida Scott-Maxwell was an American writer and playwright, born on September 14, 1883 in Orange Park, Florida. She spent the majority of her life in Scotland and England, where she eventually settled. Scott-Maxwell’s literary career began when she was 40 years old, and she was quickly recognized for her insightful and introspective works. Her most notable work, “The Measure of My Days,” published in 1968, tells her experiences of aging and the challenges women face in finding their identity amidst societal expectations.
