David Eddings

David Eddings (1931-2009) was an American author known for his epic fantasy novels. He was born in Spokane, Washington and earned his bachelor’s degree at Reed College in Portland, Oregon. Eddings served in the United States Army during the Korean War before beginning his career as a high school English teacher. In 1982, he published his first novel, “Pawn of Prophecy,” which launched his popular series, “The Belgariad.” Eddings collaborated with his wife, Leigh Eddings, on most of his works, and their writing partnership continued for nearly four decades. His novels were characterized by rich world-building, compelling characters, and complex plots. Throughout his writing career, Eddings published several successful fantasy series, including “The Malloreon,” “The Elenium,” and “The Tamuli.” He remains a beloved figure in the world of fantasy literature and has left a lasting impact on the genre.
